Just press play. The music(which to me, is very soothing) is from the documentary. You should watch it. It’ll make you feel good. One man seeking balance.

A working class hero is something to be…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on 27.03.2010 by thomas

1970

As soon as you’re born they make you feel small

by giving you no time instead of it all

til the pain is so big you  feel nothing at all

a working class hero is something to be

they hurt you at home and they hit you at school

they hate you if you’re clever and they despise a fool

til you’re so fucking crazy you can’t follow their rules

a working class hero is something to be

When they tortured and scared you for 20 odd years

then they expect you to pick a career

when you can’t really function you’re so full of fear

a working class hero is something to be

Keep you doped with religion, and sex, and TV

and you think you’re so clever and classless and free

but you’re still fucking peasants as far as I can see

a working class hero is something to be

There’s room at the top they are telling you still

but first you must learn how to smile as you kill

if you want to be like the folks on the hill

a working class hero is something to be

if you want to be a hero well then, follow me

Love YOU To #Enlightenment

1967

each day just goes so fast
I turn around it’s passed
You don’t get time to hang a sign on me
Love me while you can
All our little plans
A lifetime is so short
a new one can’t be bought
But what you’ve got means such a lot to me
make love all day long
make a singing song
there’s people standing ’round
who’ll screw you in the ground
they’ll fill you in with all the sins you’ll see
i’ll make love to you
if you want me to

(from YT description) – This is the first Beatles song that seriously attempted to incorporate Indian music.

Indian Musician Anil Bhagwat plays the Tabla, Harrison plays the sitar, Tamboura, Backwards Guitar, and Ringo plays the Tambourine.

I was happy to find this because there is no official ‘video’ for the song but someone put this great artwork to the music. John & Paul were still writing love/trippy songs while George was making a song like this about looking inward rather than songs based on observations about everything outside… Love YOU to.

When I consider the priorities of a government that spends 600% more on weapons than schools & hospitals combined I wonder about it’s surprise when kids grow up with the mindset that violence overpowers intelligence

Change is in the face of every man with broken hands…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on 22.03.2010 by thomas

2008

(2nd verse)

the ink from the last page bleeds into the next
ancestry of both slaves and Kings
from forgotten civilizations, heirlooms and rings, lost riches,
now forced to be supported by government
Change isn’t always so great
first you feel the blessing and then you feel the curse
and you might just say that’s the way it is, and work
and get on facing your challenges
but don’t let success change what the worst days meant
or ever stand in silence when you know that you should represent
Change
is in the face of every man with broken hands
trying to pick up where his father left off
in remembrance or respect
things have changed yet some are inevitable
Life & Death you never know when it changes at a moments notice
and you’re left standing on a corner alone
but one day you will find your way home
no matter how it changes

I was imagining being in the middle of a Senate session

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on 28.02.2010 by thomas

I was imagining being in the middle of a Senate session
nobody said anything to each other or me they spoke to the distance
it all bounced off the walls and of course I said what I thought
but no one would listen

no Democrat or Republican would hear my union songs

I wonder if they care what I saw in my 24 short years

If they respected my quarter century here

on this long island I was born they call New York

All my hard work

I heard late in the night the President I voted for extended the Patriot Act

can’t say I agree with that

what’s my freedom worth?

A million questions

I was imagining being in the middle of a Senate session

[[soundtrack to my thoughts]]

Let me tell you a little bit about myself…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on 12.02.2010 by thomas

while I listen to Sade “Soldier of Love” album that I just got on iTunes…

Sometimes I feel like my energy is unparalleled

I got 2 hours of sleep last night

I rarely get more than 4 or 5

I woke up 6AM

It’s 2.11.10 – I am 24 years old.

In 4 months from this day on 6.11.10 I will be 25 years old

I was born in 1985 in Queens

I think 1985 was the best year to be born

naturally

In 1995 my family moved to Staten, a town called Great Kills

Kills is the dutch word for rivers or streams

When I was a kid they used to call me Number 3

I have two older brothers who are twins

We are less than a year apart

(11 months and 2 weeks,  for 2 weeks all 3 of us same age)

they call that “Irish Twins”

I am a Gemini I am THE Gemini

I’ve seen a lot but only because my eyes are open

In 2006 I moved to Brooklyn

I am rigging grip

International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees

Local 52 Motion Picture Mechanic

I don’t use a computer at work.

I use tools

I love my job, but I want my life

I am a ♫listener by life

I am a lover by living

the difference between 0 and 1…

Posted in Uncategorized on 21.01.2010 by thomas

the difference between 0 and 1 is infinite…

You could never count the amount of pieces in a whole, but you could never have the whole without every piece.

All is one, one is all. Believe that while a countless number struggle to see another day in Haiti.

the good games…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on 18.01.2010 by thomas

The good games are the ones where it’s a hard fought and earned win. The good games are not blowouts. The good games are the ones where you say “that team lost, but damn they did their best”. Good is not being successful. Good is doing the best you can. Everyone wants to be great. We don’t need great. We need good. BE good. There’s a lot of bad out there. A lot of imbalance. Throw your weight towards something right (even if that means going left). Everyone who had a chance to play the game can be a winner. Let’s give everyone a chance to play before we get mad that we haven’t won yet.
